How to Play Code Spectrum

Objective

Crack the secret 4-color code in as few guesses as possible using logical deduction.

Controls

Works with touch on mobile and mouse click on desktop — no extra input needed.

• Tap a slot in your current guess row to select it.
• Tap a color from the palette below to fill the selected slot.
• Tap "Submit Guess" once all 4 slots are filled.

Rules

1. The computer secretly picks a sequence of 4 colors (colors may repeat).
2. After each guess, you'll see feedback pegs: a black peg means one of your colors is the right color in the right position. A white peg means a color is correct but in the wrong position.
3. Peg positions don't correspond to slot positions — they only tell you counts, not which slots.
4. You have 8 guesses to crack the code.

Winning & Losing

You win by matching the secret code exactly (4 black pegs) within 8 guesses. If you use all 8 guesses without cracking it, the game ends and reveals the code.
